ITINERARY

·        Monday, August 1st
Arrival at airport and transfers to either Doubletree Hilton Dunblane Hydro or Gleneagles Hotel (supplement required for the Gleneagles Hotel) throughout the day. Dinner at Hotels.

Tuesday, August 2nd
Excursion to Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument or Distillery and Scottish Liqueur Centre or Loch Lomond and Glasgow. Evening meal at Airth Castle.

Wednesday, August 3rd
Full day at Gleneagles Golf Club. Dinner at Hotels.

Thursday, August 4th
Check out Hotels and travel through Aberfoyle then on to Loch Katrine for 2 hour cruise on the ‘Lady of the Loch’, Scotland’s only remaining steam cruise ship. Lunch at harbour, then stop at Scottish Woollen Mill where we can see at close hand the infamous ‘Hamish the Heilan Coo’ (Highland cow) then some time in Callander before arriving the Fairmont Hotel where we will be based for the next 3 nights.
Dinner at Hotel or small intimate venue.
Alternatively travel to Scone Palace near Perth then on to Glamis Castle.

Friday, August 5th
Fairmont & Golf at resort or Carnoustie (supplement required for Carnoustie Championship course). Dinner at Hotel or small intimate venue.

Saturday, August 6th
Fairmont & Golf at resort or Carnoustie. Dinner at Hotel or small intimate venue.

Sunday, August 7th
Check out Fairmont (time to be advised) then walk the famous ‘Old Course’ at St Andrews before travelling to Edinburgh for check in to City Hotels. Group to be split between Balmoral (supplement required for Balmoral hotel), Barcello Carlton and George Hotels (supplement required for George hotel).

Monday, August 8th
Edinburgh city tours by coach followed by free time to explore the city then attend  tattoo that night.

Tuesday, August 9th
Morning visit to Royal Yacht Britannia, the retired state ship of Her Majesty the Queen then excursions to either the Scottish Borders visiting Melrose Abbey and Abbotsford House, the home of ‘Sir Walter Scott’ or Roslyn Chapel, now world famous through the Da Vinci Code or the New Lanark visitor centre, a World Heritage Site.
Gala evening including full Scottish entertainment.

Wednesday, August 10th
Check out of Hotels. Those returning to US to be transferred to airport. Those continuing on to Ireland will travel by coach to Stranraer for HSS crossing to Belfast then travel directly to Slieve Russell Hotel where we will be based for the next 3 nights. Arrival at Hotel is estimated around 6 pm. with cocktail reception before dinner.
For attendees only doing Ireland, transfers will be arranged to bring them to the Hotel. Supplement required for transfer from Dublin airport to Slieve Russell Hotel.

Thursday, August 11th
Slieve Russell and away day to Ulster American Folk Museum or Golf at resort.

Friday, August 12th
Slieve Russell & Golf at resort. Dinner to be advised.

Saturday, August 13th
Check out of Slieve Russell and travel to Portmarnock Hotel where we will be based for the next 5 nights. A sightseeing trip can be incorporated into this transfer if required (i.e. Irish National stud and Japanese Gardens ). Dinner at Resort.

Sunday, August 14th.

       Portmarnock Hotel and Golf at resort. Supplement required for Portmarnock and the Island Golf Club. Dinner to be advised.

Monday, August 15th
Portmarnock Hotel and away days.
Tour 1: Waterford Chrystal (approx 2 hr. drive).
Tour 2: Guinness Storehouse and guided tour of Dublin visiting various local attractions.
Tour 3: Bru na Boinne visitor centre and Trim Castle. Dinner at resort.

Tuesday, August 16th
Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Club. Dinner at resort.

Wednesday, August 17th
Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Club. Gala evening including full Irish entertainment

Thursday, August 18th
Check out of Hotel for departures from airport.

All away days are suggestions only although in both Scotland and Ireland the selection gives a historical, commercial and touristy option in each country.
